The First ‘Born-Electric’ BMW

The first ‘born-electric’ BMW i3cars to be seen on the streets of Peterborough have been delivered to electrical and mechanical engineering firm, The K A Wing Group Limited.  The Orton Southgate based company and has been involved in the installation of charging points for electric cars at locations across the city and is regarded as being at the forefront of design and installation of energy management systems for business across the region.
Managing Director David Lee said: “We’re keen to play our part in making business more energy efficient; these two vehicles will certainly help reduce our carbon footprint.  BMW is the first major car manufacturer to produce an electric car from scratch, rather than a modified traditional vehicle and the benefits to us and the environment will, we are sure, be noted by many others within the business community over the coming months.”
